Despite being only 5-foot-10, Brink enjoyed an eight-year professional hockey career, including a short stint with the National Hockey League’s Chicago Blackhawks. He began his career with the Boston Cubs (1931-32) of the Central Alberta Hockey League before playing three seasons with the Eveleth Rangers (1932-35) of the Central Hockey League. Brink then played for the Kansas City Greyhounds (1935-36) of the American Hockey Association. The Hibbing, Minnesota native made his NHL debut in 1936 and played in five games for the Blackhawks. Brink spent the next four seasons (1936-39) in the AHA for the Greyhounds, the Minneapolis Millers, the St. Paul Saints and the Wichita Skyhawks. During the 1937-38 campaign with the Rangers, Brink tallied a career-high 34 points, yet decided to retire two years letter at the age of 28. The hockey world lost a great competitor when Brink passed away in 1999.
