Gary Thorne, one of the most iconic play-by-play voices in hockey, will serve as master of ceremonies for the 50th anniversary U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration, on Nov. 30 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

One of the most anticipated dates on the calendar each year, the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration will take place at the RiverCentre in St. Paul and feature the formal enshrinement of the Class of 2022, which includes Steve Cash, Jim Johannson, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, Monique Lamoureux-Morando and Ryan Miller. In addition, the 2022 Lester Patrick Trophy recipient, Warren Strelow, will be honored.

ABOUT THORNE
A native of Old Town, Maine, Thorne was the lead play-by-play voice for the NHL on ESPN/ABC from 1992-2004, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and called the Olympic men’s hockey tournament for NBC in 2002. He started his hockey play-by-play work for the University of Maine from 1977-86 and was the TV play-by-play voice for the New Jersey Devils from 1985-93. He has also called games in the iconic Minnesota State High School League boys hockey tournament as well as the IIHF World Junior Championship and NCAA Men's Frozen Four.

The versatile Thorne was also the lead play-by-play voice of the Baltimore Orioles from 2007-20, a fill-in broadcaster for the Mets during the 2021-22 season and has called college football and basketball over an illustrious 55-year career.
